Mon,9 Jul 2012 07:12 PM PDT

FILE - In this June 28, 2012 file photo, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney speaks in Washington. When Romney broke fundraising records by bringing in more than $106 million last month, his campaign praised small-dollar donors it said made this possible. But it was actually a small and often wealthy number of donors who were responsible, giving an average of about $2,400 each, according to an Associated Press analysis of the figures. (AP Photo/Charles Dharapak, File)Mitt Romney still isn't talking about his search for a vice presidential running mate, but he offered some hints in a radio interview Monday about how he would staff his potential White House. Obama: Romney should be an 'open book'
Mon,9 Jul 2012 06:16 PM PDT

FILE - In this June 28, 2012 file photo, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney speaks about the Supreme Court ruling on health care in Washington. President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney say the Supreme Court's decision last week upholding the president's health care law gives them each advantages in the roughly dozen of states they are contesting most aggressively. Obama's team says the decision has swelled the ranks -- by the thousands -- of campaign volunteers in states he won in 2008 and hopes to again to seal his re-election. Romney is claiming success using the ruling as a fundraising tool, saying thousands of small contributions have poured in from across the battleground map as the law's opponents have seized on Romney as a last hope to repeal it. Both say the groundswell is on their side, and could make the difference in winning and losing. (AP Photo/Charles Dharapak, File)President Barack Obama said Monday that Mitt Romney should disclose more of his personal financial information. Obama's appeal, delivered in an interview with New Hampshire's WMUR, came after weeks of Democratic attacks on the Republican standard-bearer for parking money overseas, including in a Swiss bank account. "What's important, if you are running for president, is [...]

FILE - In this Aug. 16, 2011, file photo, Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev. speaks during a jobs rally in North Las Vegas, Nev. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid isn't on ballot this year, but he's very much in the game. With Republicans clamoring to take away his majority, Reid is helping Democratic Senate candidates across the nation raise money and demonize their opponents. Nowhere is his hand more visible than in his home state, where Democrats can capture a seat from Republicans. Reid, who had an arduous race of his own in Nevada two years ago, has loaned his former campaign staff to Berkley, Las Vegas' representative in the House for the past 14 years. (AP Photo/Isaac Brekken, File)The House Ethics Committee voted unanimously Monday to form a subcommittee to investigate Nevada Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley, who is locked in a tough race for Senate this year. The committee-- comprised of 5 Democrats and 5 Republicans--made just one reference to the substance of their investigation (in typical fashion for their press releases.) The [...]
