The nation's weather
Mon,9 Jul 2012 03:22 AM PDT
Associated Press -

This NOAA satellite image taken Sunday, July 01, 2012 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows clouds develop over the Central US, as a low pressure system moves off the Rockies and into the Plains. This allows for scattered showers and thunderstorms to spread from the Plains and into the Midwest. Some of these storms turn severe with large hail and strong winds. Meanwhile to the south, an area of low pressure over the western Gulf of Mexico maintains storms across eastern Texas. At the same time, hot temperatures will continue from the Mississippi River Valley through the Eastern Seaboard. (AP PHOTO/WEATHER UNDERGROUND)Weather Underground Forecast for Monday, July 09, 2012. A cold front will continue moving southward into the Southern Plains and Southeast Monday, providing further cooling after a record setting heat wave. The hottest areas of the East will be Texas and the Southeast as the cold front will fail to make significant progress into the area by the afternoon. Thus, continue to expect temperatures in the 90s and some 100s for this region. Cooler conditions are expected in the Ohio Valley and Mid Atlantic due to cooler air moving into the region.

IGNORING EVIDENCE AROUND US, GLOBAL WARMING SKEPTICS RULE
Fri,6 Jul 2012 10:02 PM PDT
Cynthia Tucker - For multiple days already this summer, the interior of the country has cooked underneath a bowl of hot air. And in what has become a summer ritual, wildfires are raging not only in the western United States but in parts of the eastern U.S., too.If global warming is a hoax, it is a strangely powerful one, hoisting global temperatures to record highs, melting the Arctic ice cap, and threatening agriculture and ecosystems across the planet. ... (AP Photo/The Salt Lake Tribune, Leah Hogsten)Firefighters battling enormous wildfires up and down the Rocky Mountain region were hopeful that predicted severe thunderstorms might drop buckets of rain and help their hard work of scraping lines of defense across rugged landscapes.
