Television host Robin Roberts speaks after being awarded a Peabody Award for her work in "Robin's Journey" in New YorkBy Andrea Burzynski NEW YORK (Reuters) - "Good Morning America" co-anchor Robin Roberts publicly acknowledged a same-sex relationship for the first time on Sunday afternoon in a Facebook post reflecting on her recovery from a blood disorder. Roberts, 53, included the information alongside a picture of her and her dog in a post marking a milestone in her recovery from the bone marrow transplant she underwent in 2012. This is the first time Roberts has publicly mentioned a relationship with a woman. In 2012 Roberts was diagnosed with the blood disorder myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and took a medical leave of absence from "Good Morning America." She returned to the show in February 2013 and won a Peabody Award the same year for "Robin's Journey," a series of TV reports that chronicled her battle against MDS.

'Hobbit' blasts past newcomers to claim third box office crown

Walt Disney's animated film "Frozen" was second with ticket sales of $28.8 million in its third week, ahead of Will Ferrell's quirky comedy "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" that collected $20.2 million at domestic theaters. "American Hustle," which reunited director David O. Russell with his "Silver Linings Playbook" stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, was fourth with $19.6 million in ticket sales at theaters in the U.S. and Canada, according to studio estimates. Director Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" was fifth with $18.5 million after finishing a close second to "The Hobbit" on Christmas Day, according to estimates compiled by Rentrak.

The song, which features in the soundtrack to "Despicable Me 2", achieved sales of nearly 107,000 copies in the past week, the Official Charts Company said, handing Williams his third British No.1 this year. Williams is set to release his second solo album early next year, the company added, noting that the as-yet-untitled album would be his follow-up to 2006's "In My Mind", which peaked at No.7 in the British charts. Sales of "Happy" pushed Christmas No.1 "Skyscraper", by former prison guard Bailey, winner of British talent show "The X-Factor", into second place.

British TV show uncovers lost Van Dyck masterpiece

By Andrew Osborn LONDON (Reuters) - A British television show dedicated to valuing people's usually modest antiques said on Sunday that it has uncovered a "hidden masterpiece" worth up to 400,000 pounds ($659,800). The painting by 17th-century Flemish artist Anthony van Dyck depicts a bearded Brussels magistrate wearing a ruff and was brought to the show by an English priest who bought it in an antiques shop for only 400 pounds. Father Jamie MacLeod, who purchased the painting because he liked the thick gold-colored frame, plans to sell the portrait to fund the restoration of bells at the chapel of a religious retreat he runs in Derbyshire, England. Philip Mould, an art expert working for the BBC's Antiques Roadshow, had suspected that the painting might be an original Van Dyck and had urged the cleric to have the canvas stripped back to its original paintwork and authenticated.
