NHL-Calgary's Giordano out for up to two months

Oct 29 (Reuters) - Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a broken ankle, the NHL team said on Tuesday. Defenseman Giordano suffered the injury on Oct. 21 against the Los Angeles Kings and has already missed three games. "It's brutal," Giordano told reporters. "You don't want to miss any time but you're hoping it's something not as significant as that time frame. But there's nothing I can do." Oct 29 (The Sports Xchange) - The Pittsburgh Penguins are banged up. Right wing Chuck Kobasew will miss three to four weeks because of a lower-body injury, the team announced Tuesday. On Monday, the team said defenseman Rob Scuderi is out indefinitely with a broken ankle. Kobasew was hurt during Monday's game on a check from Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Tim Gleason. Scuderi was blasted by Toronto Maple Leafs forward David Clarkson in Saturday's game. He is scheduled to have surgery this week. ...
