Arapahoe County District Judge William Sylvester issued the written ruling in response to a request by Denver-area media for expanded media coverage of the July 30 hearing for James Holmes. 3 arrested in separate 'Dark Knight' incidents

Courtois told authorities he was on his way to Derry, N.H., to shoot a former employer. He also said he had attended the Batman movie at the Cinemagic Theater in Saco the previous night. Reuters - (Reuters) - Maine police arrested a heavily armed man driving on the state turnpike who carried clippings about the cinema massacre in Colorado and claimed he attended the new "Batman" film with a loaded gun, authorities said on Monday. Timothy Courtois, 49, was driving 112 mph on the Maine Turnpike with an AK-47 assault weapon, four handguns and several boxes of ammunition in his car when state police pulled him over about 10 am on Sunday, said Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland. ... Internet poker owner handed 14-month prison term

Reuters - NEW YORK (Reuters) - An owner of Absolute Poker, one of the three largest Internet poker companies, was sentenced to 14 months in prison on Monday after admitting to deceiving banks over the processing of gambling proceeds. Brent Beckley, 32, joined Costa Rica-based Absolute Poker in 2003 and became its head of payment processing. Last December, he pleaded guilty in Manhattan federal court to conspiring to break U.S. laws against gambling on the Internet. Colorado prosecutor says death-penalty decision months off

Reuters - (Reuters) - The Colorado prosecutor leading the case against the man accused of shooting a dozen people at a movie theater last week said on Monday she would consult with the victims and families of the dead before deciding whether to seek the death penalty. Arapahoe County District Attorney Carol Chambers told reporters after James Eagan Holmes' first court appearance that the decision on the death penalty had to be made within 60 days of his arraignment, "so it's months down the line."
