Reuters -  KINGSTON, Jamaica (Reuters) - Asafa Powell clocked the fastest time in the 100 meters semi-finals at the Jamaican Olympic trials on Friday to issue a warning to Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake that he remains a force to be reckoned with. The former world record holder eased home in a time of 9.92 seconds, looking over his shoulders at Nesta Carter (9.95) and world champion Blake (9.96) as he crossed the line. Bolt did not display his best form but still won his heat with an ordinary clocking of 10.01. ...

Phelps and Lochte set up another showdown

Reuters -  OMAHA, Nebraska (Reuters) - Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte set up one last clash before the London Olympics when they booked their places in the final of the 200 meters individual medley at the U.S. trials on Friday. The pair, who split their 400 medley and 200 freestyle events, set up a deciding third race on Saturday when they registered the fastest two times in the semis. Racing in lanes next to each other, Lochte got his hand on the wall first in a time of one minute 55.51 seconds with Phelps easing up on the last lap to take second in 1:56.66. ...
