The nation's weather
Thu,19 Jul 2012 02:26 AM PDT
Associated Press -

This NOAA satellite image taken Sunday, July 01, 2012 at 1:45 a.m. EDT shows clouds develop over the Central US, as a low pressure system moves off the Rockies and into the Plains. This allows for scattered showers and thunderstorms to spread from the Plains and into the Midwest. Some of these storms turn severe with large hail and strong winds. Meanwhile to the south, an area of low pressure over the western Gulf of Mexico maintains storms across eastern Texas. At the same time, hot temperatures will continue from the Mississippi River Valley through the Eastern Seaboard.
