Eleven still critical in Colorado "Batman" shooting

Reuters - AURORA, Colo. (Reuters) - Eleven of the 70 people injured in a shooting rampage at a suburban Denver movie theater during a midnight screening of the new "Batman" film remained in critical condition on Friday evening, police said. Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said that of the 70 casualties, 12 had died and 58 were injured. Of that number, 30 remained hospitalized, he said. Denver rampage suspect bought guns, ammunition legally: police

(Reuters) - The suspected gunman who opened fire at a packed midnight showing of the new "Batman" film in a Denver suburb on Friday appeared to have obtained guns and ammunition legally in the two months leading up to the rampage, police said. "My understanding is all weapons he possessed, he possessed legally. All ammunition he possessed, he possessed legally," Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates told a news conference, adding that he had purchased four guns at local gun shops within the past 60 days and bought 6,000 rounds of ammunition. ... Air Force instructor guilty in sex-abuse court-martial

Reuters - SAN ANTONIO (Reuters) - A drill instructor accused of sexually assaulting and abusing 10 female trainees at Lackland Air Force Base was found guilty of all 28 charges against him on Friday. Staff Sergeant Luis Walker displayed no emotion when the court-martial panel of six men and one woman returned the verdict after about seven hours of deliberation. Walker now will be sentenced by the same panel that convicted him of rape, aggravated sexual contact and multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault.
