Mavericks sign Odom from Lakers

photo(Reuters) - The Dallas Mavericks have signed forward Lamar Odom from the Los Angeles Lakers, the reigning NBA champions said on Sunday. The prospect of trading the two-time NBA champion had been criticized by Los Angeles' top player Kobe Bryant but still went ahead. Odom was the top reserve on the Lakers roster and was given the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award. Reuters - LONDON (Reuters) - Amir Khan's camp plan to raise concerns about the performance of the referee after the British fighter controversially lost his WBA super-lightweight and IBF light-welterweight titles to Lamont Peterson in Washington D.C. on Saturday. The Briton was deducted two points for by referee Joseph Cooper in a split-decision defeat, one in the seventh round for pushing and one in the 12th when Khan hit Peterson on the break. CAF "disappointed" with IOC's decision to reprimand

photo(Reuters) - African soccer's governing body (CAF) said it was "disappointed" that its president Issa Hayatou has been reprimanded by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) even though the Cameroonian admitted receiving payments from a defunct firm at the heart of a corruption affair. Hayatou told the IOC's ethics commission that he was paid by FIFA's former marketing agency International Sport and Leisure (ISL) in 1995. The IOC said such an action constituted a conflict of interest and reprimanded him. ...
