Cunningham, 26, was arrested on a felony domestic assault charge and ordered to stay away from the woman after an alleged attack on Thursday in Medina, Minnesota, a suburb west of Minneapolis. He then traveled to Orlando, and played nearly 34 minutes in a 100-92 loss against the Orlando Magic on Saturday. The Timberwolves have already been eliminated from the NBA playoff contention.

Honeymoon slaying suspect extradited to S Africa

Shrien Dewani has spent years fighting extradition over the death of his 28-year-old bride Anni. She was found shot dead in an abandoned taxi in Cape Town's Gugulethu township in November 2010. Lawyers for the 34-year-old businessman say he suffers from post-traumatic stress and depression and is unfit to stand trial. But last month Britain's High Court rejected his grounds for appeal. He is expected to be put on a flight to Cape Town Monday, and South African officials say he will appear in court there Tuesday. The dead woman's brother, Anish Hindocha, said the extradition brought them LONDON (AP) — A British man accused of arranging the slaying of his wife on their honeymoon was extradited Monday to South Africa to face a murder charge.

A suburban Detroit man was in critical condition Thursday with severe head injuries after a neighborhood mob beat and kicked him when he stopped to check on a 10-year-old boy who stepped from a curb into the path of his pickup. The 54-year-old man, whose name was not released, was being treated at a Detroit hospital as police scoured the east side neighborhood where he was attacked Wednesday afternoon. The boy, David Harris, was expected to recover from his injuries, according to Desmond Key, who said he was the 10-year-old's uncle. Honeymoon murder suspect extradited to S.Africa: police

Officers from Britain's Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Extradition Unit took Dewani, 34, from Fromeside Hospital in south west England, where he has been receiving treatment for reported mental health problems, to nearby Bristol Airport. Dewani denies ordering the killing of his 28-year-old Swedish bride Anni in Cape Town in November 2010, and has been fighting extradition from Britain ever since. He claimed he had mental health problems, including depression and post-traumatic stress, and was detained under mental health legislation.

Arizona mother pleads not guilty for leaving kids in hot car

By David Schwartz PHOENIX (Reuters) - An unemployed Arizona woman accused of leaving her two young children in a hot car while she went to a job interview pleaded not guilty to two felony child abuse charges on Monday, court officials said. Shanesha Taylor, 35, made the plea during a brief arraignment in Maricopa County Superior Court in a case that has attracted nationwide attention and garnered her more than $91,000 in Internet donations. Taylor was charged after police found her children, ages 2 and 6 months, in a parked car last month, sweating profusely and in apparent distress as she went to attend an interview for an insurance company job, according to court documents.

Phoenix mom facing abuse charges pleads not guilty

But she couldn't find a babysitter for her 2-year-old son and 6-month old baby. She made the decision to leave her children in her Dodge Durango outside the office where she was interviewing with the key still in the ignition. That ill-fated decision landed the mother of two in Maricopa County Superior Court Monday, April 7, 2014, where she was arraigned on two charges of child abuse. Neither Taylor nor her court-appointed attorney has responded to requests for comment. The UN, through a United States-led resolution, last month set an international inquiry into the alleged war crimes and human rights abuses after the island nation's government had failed to investigate them properly. Sri Lankan government has rejected the allegations.
