Minnesota NBA basketball forward arrested after threatening girlfriend  Monday, Apr 07, 2014 05:08 PM PDT By David Bailey MINNEAPOLIS (Reuters) - Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team forward, Dante Cunningham, charged last week with choking his live-in girlfriend during a domestic assault, is now suspected of sending her threatening messages, police said on Monday. Cunningham, 26, was arrested on a felony domestic assault charge and ordered to stay away from the woman after an alleged attack on Thursday in Medina, Minnesota, a suburb west of Minneapolis. He then traveled to Orlando, and played nearly 34 minutes in a 100-92 loss against the Orlando Magic on Saturday. The Timberwolves have already been eliminated from the NBA playoff contention. Honeymoon murder suspect extradited to S.Africa: police  Monday, Apr 07, 2014 01:51 PM PDT British businessman Shrien Dewani was on Monday finally extradited to stand trial for allegedly murdering his wife during a staged car-jacking on their 2010 honeymoon in South Africa, police announced. Officers from Britain's Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) Extradition Unit took Dewani, 34, from Fromeside Hospital in south west England, where he has been receiving treatment for reported mental health problems, to nearby Bristol Airport. Dewani denies ordering the killing of his 28-year-old Swedish bride Anni in Cape Town in November 2010, and has been fighting extradition from Britain ever since. Arizona mother pleads not guilty for leaving kids in hot car  Monday, Apr 07, 2014 12:53 PM PDT By David Schwartz PHOENIX (Reuters) - An unemployed Arizona woman accused of leaving her two young children in a hot car while she went to a job interview pleaded not guilty to two felony child abuse charges on Monday, court officials said. Shanesha Taylor, 35, made the plea during a brief arraignment in Maricopa County Superior Court in a case that has attracted nationwide attention and garnered her more than $91,000 in Internet donations. Taylor was charged after police found her children, ages 2 and 6 months, in a parked car last month, sweating profusely and in apparent distress as she went to attend an interview for an insurance company job, according to court documents. The UN, through a United States-led resolution, last month set an international inquiry into the alleged war crimes and human rights abuses after the island nation's government had failed to investigate them properly.
