NFL-Baltimore quarterback Flacco named Super bowl MVP

NEW ORLEANS, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco was named the Most Valuable Player in Sunday's 47th Super Bowl after leading his team to a 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The 28-year-old Flacco threw three touchdown passes and no interceptions in a brilliant overall performance. It was the 27th time a quarterback had won the award. (Reporting by Julian Linden)

CBS says honoring Super Bowl ad commitments despite outage

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - CBS said on Sunday it was honoring all of its commercial commitments for the Super Bowl, which was disrupted by a 35-minute power outage. "We utilized CBS's back-up power and at no time did we leave the air," Jennifer Sabatelle, vice president of communications for CBS Sports, said in an email. During the interruption, CBS Sports' Steve Tasker, Solomon Wilcots and its studio team reported on the outage as a breaking news story.
