A BP logo is seen on a petrol station in LondonNEW YORK (Reuters) - BP Plc said it could start returning offshore workers to its deepwater Gulf of Mexico oil and gas facilities later on Sunday after a tropical storm had dissipated. BP said on Thursday it had evacuated some non-essential personnel from its four production platforms and had ordered its drilling rig contractors to temporarily cease operations. Libyan interior minister resigns over 'interference'

TRIPOLI (Reuters) - Libya's Interior Minister Mohammed Khalifa al-Sheikh stepped down on Sunday in protest against what he saw as interference in his work by the prime minister and parliament, a lawmaker said. The ministry has come under increasing pressure to deal with violence that has persisted since the 2011 war that toppled Muammar Gaddafi. The oil-producing state is still awash with weapons and militias who have clashed with security forces. LONDON (Reuters) - British engineer Amec is eyeing an 800 million pound bid for London-listed peer Kentz as the group attempts to grow its oil and gas division, according to a report on Sunday. Amec, which provides services and equipment for the oil and gas, mining, nuclear and renewable energy sectors, approached Kentz in July over a potential deal, the Mail on Sunday reported without naming the source. Libyan interior minister submits resignation to cabinet

TRIPOLI (Reuters) - Libya's Interior Minister Mohammed Khalifa al-Sheikh submitted his resignation on Sunday over differences with the prime minister over his responsibilities, a parliament member said. Al-Sharif al-Wafi, a member of the Libyan General National Congress, said Sheikh, a former Tripoli police colonel, submitted his resignation to the cabinet and to parliament in protest against what he said was interference in his work by the government and parliament. Sheikh took up his post in May after his predecessor Ashour Shuail resigned.
