(AP) — Severe thunderstorms and heavy fog were reported around the time a helicopter crashed in northeastern Pennsylvania on Saturday, killing all five people on board, including a child, officials said Monday. Hawaii braces for flooding as Tropical Storm Flossie approaches  Monday, Jul 29, 2013 06:29 PM PDT By Jonathan Kaminsky (Reuters) - A tropical storm with the potential to trigger serious flooding and mudslides was bearing down on Hawaii on Monday and authorities there cautioned residents and tourists to stay inside and off the roads. Tropical Storm Flossie was expected to strike the Big Island and Maui on Monday evening, with waves along the eastern shores of those islands likely to reach as high as 18 feet, according to the National Weather Service. "This shouldn't be taken lightly. It's not just a rain cloud," said Brian Miyamoto, spokesman for the Hawaii State Civil Defense. ... Full Story	Top

Nor is Dana Rep. Dana Rohrabacher of California. They are climate change deniers — of the sort that a recent poll suggests may be harming the Republican Party with younger voters. For now, though, it doesn't matter. Far from suggesting a problem for the party's energy policies, denialism is trapped in a chicken-egg paradox with calls for additional fossil fuel extraction.
