In a tournament full of surprises, Federer struck a blow for the old world order with a 6-4 6-4 win over German Tommy Haas. The only player left in the men's draw with a higher ranking than world number eight Federer is Serbia's Novak Djokovic, who was due to play Marin Cilic in Wednesday's feature night match. Sharper, who played 14 years in the National Football League and helped the New Orleans Saints win a 2010 Super Bowl title, is in custody in Los Angeles, where he is accused of drugging four women and raping two of them. He faces similar accusations in Louisiana and is the subject of sex crimes investigations in Florida and Nevada. Sharper, 38, was indicted by a grand jury in Maricopa County on two counts of sexual assault and three counts of administering dangerous drugs, said Tempe police Sergeant Michael Pooley in a statement. Despite winning the first set, the Wimbledon champion was unable to contain the raw power of Raonic, who triumphed 4-6 7-5 6-3 in a little over two hours.
