Swimming-Cielo, Ye chasing second consecutive titles

BARCELONA, July 29 (Reuters) - Cesar Cielo of Brazil can become only the second swimmer to win more than one men's 50 metres butterfly title and China's Ye Shiwen can pull off a similar feat in the women's 200m medley on day two of racing at the world championships on Monday. Cielo's task has possibly been made easier after both South African Roland Schoeman, champion in 2005 and 2007, and world record holder Rafael Munoz of Spain failed to make it through to the final. ...

Cibulkova takes revenge on Radwanska to win Stanford title

By Matt and Cronin STANFORD, California (Reuters) - Dominika Cibulkova avenged an embarrassing defeat to Agnieszka Radwanska by overhauling the top-seeded Pole 3-6 6-4 6-4 to win the Bank of the West Classic on Sunday. Earlier this year in the Sydney final, Radwanska handed the Slovakian a humiliating 6-0 6-0 loss which Cibulkova said affected her for weeks. But in Sunday's final, the 24-year-old Cibulkova immediately shook off her nerves by winning the first game and fought tooth and nail to seal the win in two-and-a-half hours. ...

Rugby-Crusaders coach re-appointed despite semi-final loss

Brek Shea broke through with the only goal of the game in the second half to give the United States their first Gold Cup title since 2007 and make up for back-to-back defeats to Mexico in the last two finals.
