Rogers, 73, a member of the Motown group that was formed in the mid-1950s with Robinson, Ronnie White and Pete Moore, was a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. "He had a sparkling personality that was loved by everyone," Claudette Robinson, Rogers' first cousin, told the newspaper. "People always commented on the tall one with the glasses. ...

News Ltd to sell New Zealand Sky TV stake

WELLINGTON (Reuters) - New Zealand's dominant television operator, Sky Network Television Ltd confirmed on Monday that its major shareholder News Corp is to sell its 44 percent stake. It confirmed weekend media reports that brokers Deutsche Bank and Craig Investment Partners would handle the sale of the shares to institutional and retail investors. Sky TV was placed on a trading halt and the disposal of the shares is expected to take two days. Shares in Sky, which has a near monopoly in pay television services in New Zealand, closed on Friday at A$4. ...

"Jack," a retelling of the "Jack and the Beanstalk" fairy tale, earned the No. 1 spot on domestic box office charts with $28 million in ticket sales in U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to studio estimates compiled by Reuters on Sunday. But that was an underwhelming start for a 3D movie that cost $189 million to produce, plus tens of millions more to market. PERTH, Australia (Reuters) - News Ltd is believed to have sold its 44 percent stake in New Zealand's dominant television operator, Sky Network Television Ltd (SKT.AX), the Australian Financial Review reported on its website on Sunday.
