At 105 yen or lower it will cost less for Panasonic to build appliances it sells in Japan rather than importing them from factories abroad, Kazunori Takami, the head of the appliance business, said at a press briefing in Osaka. ...

Zynga said it will cut about 520 jobs, or roughly one-fifth of its work force, and close some offices in the United States. Analysts said the latest warning on quarterly bookings, a measure of sales, boded poorly for the "FarmVille" developer, which began trimming staff late last year. ...

Contrafund, run by portfolio manager Will Danoff, owned 9.2 million shares of Apple at the end of April, according to the latest monthly update by Boston-based Fidelity. It owned 10.1 million Apple shares at the end of March after Danoff cut his stake by 12 percent during the first quarter. Contrafund is still the largest active shareholder in Apple. ...

Static claims that Lexmark falsely advertised by advising customers that Static's chips infringed upon Lexmark's intellectual property. Vodafone Qatar Q4 loss narrows as subscriber base grows

Vodafone, which ended Ooredoo's (Qatar Telecom) domestic monopoly in 2009, made a fourth-quarter net loss of 73.9 million riyals in the three months to March 31, according to Reuters calculations. That compares with a loss of 126.5 million riyals in the year-earlier period. The operator's financial year starts on April 1. ...

The two firms have entered non-binding talks for a Mobily subsidiary to buy a stake in Atheeb, according to the statement, which sets a June 30 deadline to announce "relevant developments". This did not state what size stake Mobily was seeking or who the potential sellers are. Bahrain Telecommunications Co (Batelco) owns 15 percent of Atheeb, Atheeb Trading Company holds 16. ...
