Reuters -  NEW YORK (Reuters) - Novak Djokovic delivered a typically ruthless 6-1 6-0 6-1 win over Paolo Lorenzi in the U.S. Open first round on Tuesday. The defending champion wasted little time against the outgunned Italian, taking just 73 minutes to wrap up the win, and said that while it was important to approach each match with the same professional attitude he also wanted to enjoy his time at Flushing Meadows. Reuters -  NEW YORK (Reuters) - Serena Williams powered to a 6-1 6-1 win over Coco Vandeweghe in the first round of the U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows on Tuesday night. Williams needed only 55 minutes to defeat her fellow American and continue the imposing form that took her to the Wimbledon and Olympic titles this year. The fourth seed was dominant in every department and will next face Spain's Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. Reuters - MELBOURNE (Reuters) - He has described himself as the happiest man alive, yet in 20 years Iraq-born swimmer Ahmed Kelly has risen above extreme hardship to become one of Australia's leading medal hopes at the London Paralympics. Kelly, along with his brother Emmanuel, was born severely disabled, with under-developed limbs as a result of their parents' exposure to chemical weapons. Reuters -  (Reuters) - Injury-plagued Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista will have season-ending surgery on his left wrist, the Major League Baseball (MLB) team said on Tuesday. The two-time defending MLB home run leader aggravated the injury on Saturday in Baltimore just two days after returning from a month-long absence due to inflammation in his wrist. Reuters - (Reuters) - The ESPN sports network agreed to pay Major League Baseball $5.6 billion over eight years for a package of television and digital rights through the 2021 season, a deal that reflects the strong demand for live sports content. ESPN, a major profit driver for owner Walt Disney Co, will pay baseball an average of $700 million a year, three sources who asked to remain anonymous said on Tuesday.
