Troublesome results from Weston student health survey

The rates of Weston High School students who have engaged in sexual intercourse (averaging 26 percent over the four grades) and consumed alcohol (41 percent) are lower than state averages, but still worrisome, according to the results of recent surveys that were presented to the School Committee on Monday night.

DHHS releases tips to avoid heat-related illness

The unofficial start to summer brings with it a spike in heat-related illnesses. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) reported that people visited emergency departments more than 1,200 times last summer for heat-related issues, and that trend began Memorial Day weekend, when temperatures hovered in the 90s.
