Clarke skipped training on Tuesday to rest his ankle but trained in the nets on Wednesday at Adelaide Oval, where the test begins on Thursday. "The ankle feels fine," Clarke told reporters. "I think not training yesterday gave me an extra day to make me feel 100 percent." "Each year, I think going back to when I was 12 years old, I've improved as a golfer," Spieth told reporters on a sun-drenched Tuesday at Sherwood Country Club while preparing for this week's Northwestern Mutual World Challenge. "Now I'm able to be in all four of them and pick my schedule leading up to them to have the best success I can there versus not even knowing I was going to be in a couple of them." Spieth, who won the John Deere Classic in July before ending a golden 2013 campaign by being voted the PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year, says his main aim is to go into the majors well rested with a better game plan. | USOC says intends to bid for 2024 Summer Games Tuesday, Dec 03, 2013 04:29 PM PST  (Reuters) - The United States will bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics as long as they find a candidate city that meets necessary conditions, United States Olympic Committee (USOC) chairman Larry Probst said on Tuesday. The USOC has a long list of criteria that a candidate city must meet but with several cities expressing strong interest in a bid and encouragement from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) it seems almost certain the United States will try to land its first Summer Games since 1996. "It is our intention to bid for 2024 if all the elements we talked about previously are in place," Probst said during a conference call following the USOC's final board meeting of the year in San Francisco.
