Twelve injured when car drives through Los Angeles boardwalk Saturday, Aug 03, 2013 08:43 PM PDT (Reuters) - A motorist drove a car drove through the popular Venice Beach boardwalk in Los Angeles on Saturday, injuring at least a dozen people in a hit-and-run incident, authorities said. "There was a hit-and-run and the vehicle is in custody. The driver fled on foot. There is a possible suspect who has been detained," said Daniel Chun, spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department. Witnesses described a dark-colored sedan moving at speeds as much as 20 miles per hour down the oceanside pedestrian walkway before 6 p.m., said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. ... Isuzu to use GM engines in new pick-up truck made in India: Nikkei Saturday, Aug 03, 2013 07:58 PM PDT TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese truck maker Isuzu Motors Ltd will use diesel engines made by General Motors Co in its new pick-up truck made in India to cut costs and lessen the burden of technology development, the Nikkei daily reported on Sunday. Isuzu plans to supply some 100,000 engines made at GM's factory based in India. The engines are produced with use of Isuzu technology.
