The mother and baby were killed while traveling on Interstate 40, just west of Oklahoma City, when their vehicle was picked up by the storm, said Betsy Randolph, spokeswoman for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Tornado emergency declared for part of hard-hit Oklahoma town of Moore

(Reuters) - A tornado emergency was declared for parts of the hard-hit Oklahoma City suburb of Moore on Friday after storm spotters sighted a confirmed twister heading toward the area, the National Weather Service said. It said an emergency had been declared for North Moore and nearby Valley Brook. The new emergency came 10 days after a massive tornado struck Moore on May 20 and killed 24 people. EL RENO, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says motorists have been hurt in a storm that hit the Oklahoma City area and that others are missing. The National Weather Service issued a tornado emergency for the city's downtown, airport and several suburbs as the storm rolled through central Oklahoma.

A large storm cell, which reportedly produced a multiple vortex tornado, passes south of El Reno, Oklahoma(Reuters) - A mile-wide tornado has touched down west of Oklahoma City where it has done damage and it is headed toward Oklahoma City, Oklahoma television station KFOR reported. The tornado overturned vehicles and did damage along Interstate 40, the station reported. Forecasters said several intense tornadoes were likely, along with storms bringing up to 4-inch hail and damaging wind gusts that could reach 80 miles per hour.
